Starting a company

Anyone got some advice on starting a company? Trying to figure out what would be best for Amazon wholesale as I’m finding most of the better wholesalers want VAT and business registration which is understandable. I’ve never done anything like this. Do I register it as a sole trader, limited or partnership?

Answer: You can set up a company for free and register for VAT for free – I’ve recently done both. Had to do a bit of research but it was relatively well explained on the .gov website and saved a bit of cash.You might need to get an accountant to do VAT returns and bookkeeping / annual accounts depending on how financially literate you are, but doing the registration yourself will save some cash.

It depends, ltd company has advantages (lower tax, much less personal liability if anything goes wrong) but there are more paperwork requirements.If you google ‘sole trader vs partnership vs ltd company UK’ there will be loads of websites explaining the differences
